Former Napoli midfielder said Trabzonspor ‘is the right place for me’ and compared the passion at the Senol Gunes Stadium to the Partenopei.

The 33-year-old left Napoli in February 2019, when he moved to DL Yifang in China, but he returned to Europe in March, when he signed with IFK Göteborg in Sweden.

After six games and one goal in Allsvenskan, the Slovakia international has decided to move on, and signed with Trabzonspor on a free transfer.

“This is the right place for me,” Hamsik told the club’s official website. “I saw the passion they have for football, just like in Naples.”

The former Brescia player spent 12 years in Naples, appearing 520 times for the Azzurri, contributing 121 goals and 100 assists in his time with the Partenopei.
