Marek Hamsik’s agent confirms the midfielder “always wanted Napoli” despite previous Juventus interest.
Bianconero vice-President Pavel Nedved revealed over the weekend that they had found an agreement with the Partenopei to sign the Slovakian international, but the player himself rejected the move.
“Marek has always wanted to stay at Napoli,” Juraj Venglos said on Radio Crc.

“Marek has always wanted to stay at Napoli,” Juraj Venglos said on Radio Crc.
“I’m a professional when it comes to these things which are between two clubs, but it’s no secret that there was interest from Juventus and other clubs for Hamsik.
“He always wanted Napoli though.
“Marek has been at Napoli for 10 years, and next year he can overtake [Diego] Maradona [in goals scored] which would be a great achievement.
“I’m already thinking of a celebration, I’m not being premature about anything but it will involve a whole lot of things.
“Next season? There’s no need to buy big players to improve this Napoli, they already fought with Juventus for the Scudetto last season.
“To do better, they just need to drop fewer points against those below them. In big matches Napoli always won, so the difference next year will have to be against the smaller teams.”
