Francesco Guidolin warns “there’s a lot at stake” when Udinese face Milan in the Coppa Italia quarter-final.

This one-off tie kicks off at San Siro at 20.00 GMT on Wednesday, with the winners going on to face Fiorentina or Siena.

“There’s a lot at stake here,” said Udinese Coach Guidolin in his Press conference.

“It is a single game with the prospect of reaching the semi-final. We care about this competition a great deal and must put the bitterness of Serie A results behind us to concentrate solely on Milan. To get a positive result we have to give our all.”

Udinese are struggling badly in Serie A recently, but the only high point of 2014 has been a surprise Coppa Italia victory to eliminate Inter.

Morale is low after Sunday’s 3-2 home defeat to 10-man Lazio” data-scaytid=”20″>Lazio, especially as they appeared to be in control.

“The lads are following me to the letter. The team always trains well, is reactive, organised and rigorous. We cannot think the tide will turn by itself, so we have to earn our own good luck.”

Milan’s confidence was boosted by Sunday’s 1-0 win over Hellas Verona on the debut of new Coach Clarence Seedorf.

“I am happy for the Dutchman, as he was a great player and is an intelligent guy, but first I want to spend a thought for Massimiliano Allegri. He did a great job at Milan, is a capable Coach who was ready for the biggest stages and it’s a shame his adventure there terminated early.

“Seedorf is certainly helped by his career and will bring a great contribution in terms of ideas and motivation.”
