“Clearly, we always try to go for the maximum points and we had the chances to bring home a win today as well,” Gotti told the official Udinese website.

“I think we were better in the first half than the second, in terms of solidity and ideas, but Cagliari took the lead with a dead-ball situation.

“Nonetheless, we did well to get the game back on track and create another couple of impressive opportunities.”

Lasagna has barely featured in recent weeks due to fitness concerns and poor form, but made an immediate impact off the bench.

“I just asked him to be himself and I saw the real Lasagna recently once again. Hopefully a goal can be the right medicine to get him back to his old self.”
