Lazio goalkeeper Pepe Reina says it’s special to face his former club Napoli, but insists the Biancocelesti need a positive result against the Partenopei.

The Spaniard played 182 games over four seasons at Napoli.

“It’s going to normal game for me. Napoli are a special team. The club and the fans have always been close to me, they are in my heart,” the former Liverpool man said in an interview released on the Matchday Programme.

Lazio have had the worst start of the Simone Inzaghi era with 18 points in 12 games.

“The Partenopei have a very prepared and deep squad, they are one of the best teams in Italy and they aim to win the Scudetto. They can count on many good footballers who will not make the absences felt.”

Napoli are without their injured strikers Victor Osimhen and Dries Mertens who will reportedly return to action in january.
