Roma loanee Maxime Gonalons says he is ‘leaving’ Sevilla but has left their fans with a cryptic ‘see you soon’.

Roma loaned Gonalons to Sevilla last season, but the midfielder played just 13 times due to a succession of injuries.

The Spanish side do not have an option to buy, while the situation is made more complex by the presence of Monchi in Andalusia.

The sporting director signed the 30-year-old from Olympique Lyonnais when he worked for Roma in 2017 but then sanctioned his move to Sevilla.

“It’s with a sense of nostalgia that I leave Seville… See you soon.”
