Fiorentina have been dealt a blow with the news that Mario Gomez will be out for two weeks due to an ankle injury.

The player was subbed off yesterday evening at the hour mark of La Viola’s Coppa Italia semi-final win at Juventus.

The club has since published a statement reporting on the German's conditions, revealing that he will face another period on the sidelines.

“The diagnostic exams that the Viola player Mario Gomez underwent reveal an injury to the anterior ligament of the left ankle.
