Sky Sport Italia and Mediaset Premium reports, among others, stated that Pepito already has an agreement with Genoa, pending a medical.

The 30-year-old Italy international is a free agent after his contract with Fiorentina expired this summer.

He had been out of action since April 10 when rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee for the third time.

As Rossi is a free agent, he'll be available to play immediately and won't need to wait until the January transfer window.

It would be initially a contract to the end of the season.

His previous clubs are Parma, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Villarreal, Fiorentina, Levante and Celta Vigo.
