Good news for Milan, as Olivier Giroud has tested negative for COVID-19 and will therefore be available to play against Lazio on Sunday.

The forward had contracted the Coronavirus early last week and was self-isolating at home in Milan.

A statement from the club confirms Giroud has now tested negative.

He will have a mandatory medical screening tomorrow, as per Italian Government protocols, and can then return to training.

That also means the France international is available for Sunday’s Serie A showdown with Lazio.

Giroud had a great start to his Rossoneri career, bagging a brace in the 4-1 win over Cagliari at San Siro.

Coach Stefano Pioli should also have Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Franck Kessie back in his squad after they recovered from injuries to train with the rest of the team over the last few days.

Rade Krunic remains a major doubt, having picked up an injury while on international duty with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

  1. Sarri must make sure the players are confident enough to beat Milan away even with a packed San Siro.

If Lazio come away with a win, they are a serious scudetto contenders.
