Milan are set to meet with Olivier Giroud and his agents this week to finalise his new contract, as the current deal is due to expire in June.

The veteran striker was the subject of several offers during the January transfer window, above all from Premier League side Everton and clubs in MLS, but opted to remain at San Siro.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the contract extension has never been in doubt and his future with the Rossoneri is assured.

Giroud and his representatives are ready to meet with Milan directors on Thursday or Friday this week to whittle down the final details.

It will be a one-year contract extension, potentially with an option to add on another season.

The 36-year-old joined from Chelsea in the summer of 2021 at a cost of €2.85m and proved instrumental in their first Serie A title success for a decade.

So far this season, he has contributed 10 goals and six assists in 27 competitive matches for the Diavolo.
