Olivier Giroud was instrumental to Milan‘s title win last season, but the France international has yet to find the net in the Champions League with the Rossoneri.

His brace in February’s derby della Madonnina will forever be remembered as the turning point in Milan’s first title-winning campaign in 11 years.

However, the ex-Arsenal and Chelsea striker has yet to score his first Milan goal in the Champions League.

Tonight, he will have a chance to do so against RB Salzburg as the 35-year-old is expected to start as a sole striker in the Rossoneri’s attack.

Giroud has scored 11 of his last 12 Champions League goals away from home and will be eager to continue his streak of away goals on Austrian soil tonight.

Milan’s last five Champions League goals came from five different players: Ante Rebic, Brahim Diaz, Rafael Leao, Junior Messias and Fikayo Tomori.

Giroud has scored two goals in five Serie A appearances this term. Overall, he has 16 goals in 43 appearances with the Serie A giants.
