Italy have another injury to monitor as Sebastian Giovinco is ruled out of action for 10 days after picking up a knee injury.

The diminutive forward, who finished the season in strong form for Parma, was named on Sunday in Cesare Prandelli’s provisional 32-man squad for the European Championships this summer.

However, he will have to sit out preparations for the next 10 days after chief medic for the Azzurri, Enrico Castellacci, diagnosed the player with a first degree sprain in the joint.

Meanwhile Daniele De Rossi underwent an x-ray as expected that revealed a displaced fracture of the second finger in his right hand. This is unlikely to affect the player’s training.

Riccardo Montolivo and Giorgio Chiellini are currently injury doubts, for being in different stages of recovery from respective thigh strains.
