Toronto FC's Sebastian Giovinco hopes Juventus beat Inter on Sunday, while claiming 'the Azzurri compensate for what I lost in Serie A'.

The Derby d'Italia has the media already abuzz, and comments are coming from as far as Major League Soccer, where the former Bianconero emigrated.

“It's going to be a difficult game,” Giovinco told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “But I hope my former teammates can beat the Nerazzurri.

“It would be important to climb back up the standings a little bit.

“It's hard to say whether a loss would compromise the Scudetto campaign. Of course the distance from the top would widen, but the season is still only starting out.

“I haven't followed all of Juve's matches, often my training takes place during their games.

“The team is very different, they lost important players like [Andrea] Pirlo, [Carlos] Tevez and [Arturo] Vidal, and it's a tough void to fill.

“Now the club is moving in a different way and it's logical that they would need some time to absorb the new tactics.

“It takes some patience. People in Torino are used to good results, but they must understand the circumstance.

“Rumours of a link between me and Inter? I don't know anything about it.”

The Atomic Ant was then asked where he would watch the game.

“That depends on the schedule of training. Maybe at home, or with a few friends at the pub.

“Do I miss games like these? Of course. But there's the national team that compensates for strong emotions like those of Serie A games.

“My favourite strikers in Inter and Juve are [Mauro] Icardi and [Alvaro] Morata. They're great.

“I hope Juve wins. My forecast? Let's say 2-1 for the Bianconeri.”
