Alberto Gilardino will not be leaving Genoa during the summer transfer window, his agent has underlined.

The 2006 World Cup winner has been linked with former club Parma and French Second Division outfit Monaco over recent weeks.

The striker though, who only joined the Marassi outfit in January from Fiorentina, is seemingly going nowhere.

“There are no negotiations going on for Gilardino,” agent Beppe Bozzo told Sportitalia. “Genoa CEO Pietro Lo Monaco has assured us that he will stay at Genoa.”

The 29-year-old, not part of Italy’s Euro 2012 campaign, cost the Grifone around €8m at the start of 2012.

The ex-Milan man only scored four goals in 14 games for a club who only survived the drop on the last day of the season.
