“However, I’m a Genoa player and I want to remain here, always doing well in the process.”

Gilardino was the match-winner on Wednesday as, although he missed a penalty, he did net the only goal of the game in a 1-0 over Parma.

“It was a really intense tie,” the man who spent last season at Bologna noted. “The win was so important as it has allowed us to take a step forward.

“What we showed out there on the pitch is what the fans want to see.”

Genoa, now bossed by Gian Piero Gasperini, are joint twelfth in the Serie A standings. They are away at Lazio this weekend.
