Italian World Cup winner Alberto Gilardino has successfully completed his medical ahead of his move to Genoa.

The striker, 29, was in the port city this morning to undergo a number of medical checks before he can put pen to paper on a deal with the Rossoblu.

Genoa made it clear last month that they would look to bring in a new centre-forward during the January transfer window.
