The Coach left Empoli at the end of the Serie A season, and has been linked with the Rossoneri job, as Cristian Brocchi is not expected to be kept on.
“To be linked with the Rossoneri is gratifying,” Giampaolo told reporters at an event hosted by Associazione Italiana Allenatori Calcio.
“At the moment there’s nothing concrete though, no meeting.

“An endorsement from Arrigo Sacchi? He’s a master, and was an inspiration for me. He called me to lead the Under-21s a few years ago, so that’s a sign of esteem.
“His words can’t be anything but pleasing for me.”
