Cesena have insisted that Marco Giampaolo will not dump them to become the new boss of Roma.

Giampaolo was associated with the Giallorossi job this morning, despite agreeing to take the Cesena coaching role at the weekend.

"We will be presenting Marco Giampaolo as our Coach tomorrow," President Igor Campedelli told Sky Sport 24.

"We have an agreement with him and we made that official on our website. It is all OK, there will be no surprises.

"I'm stunned of what has been represented as an interest by Roma, I think it was just a general chat that didn't affect his position.

"I know that on Saturday we reached a deal and he has told me over the last few days that he hasn't reconsidered his position.

"Giampaolo, who we have known for a few weeks, seems like the kind of guy who does maintain his word.

"I've contacted him and he confirmed that he'll be seeing us on Wednesday."

Reports had suggested that new Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini spoke to Giampaolo given that first choice Luis Enrique had yet to agree to a Stadio Olimpico move.
