Emanuele Giaccherini is reportedly keen to move to Chievo, but Napoli would have to contribute part of his wage.

The versatile midfielder wants to leave the Partenopei this month, having made only one Serie A start since joining in the summer of 2016.

According to Corriere di Verona, the former Sunderland man has accepted a move to the Flying Donkeys, which would be a loan with option to buy.

However, his €2m per season wages are far beyond what Chievo would pay, so his current club would have to make a contribution.

While relations between Napoli and the Veronese club are good, the Partenopei are certainly not willing to basically give Giaccherini away.

It’s therefore expected that any potential deal could go down to the wire as the two clubs negotiate.
