Milan could still sign Lucas Ocampos from Genoa, reports suggest, if Emanuele Giaccherini joins the Grifone.

M’Baye Niang will take his medical with Watford this morning, ahead of signing for the English side on loan with an €18m option to buy.

The Rossoneri are keen to sign Ocampos to replace him, but that deal has stalled as the original idea was to send Niang to Marassi.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport believes that a deal is still possible if the Grifone get a replacement, and that replacement could be Giaccherini.

The winger’s agent admitted yesterday that his client is looking to leave Napoli, as he’s frustrated by his lack of playing time.

While Genoa would not be able to pay his €2m wages, relations with the Partenopei are good and he could arrive on loan with his parent club paying a portion of his salary.

That would then allow Ocampos to move to Milan, as it’s thought his parent club, Marseille, are open to loaning him to Milan instead.
