Napoli are reportedly willing to more than double Faouzi Ghoulam's salary, but the full-back wants €2.5m per season.

The Algerian international’s current deal runs out at the end of next season, meaning the Partenopei will be in a difficult position this summer if he doesn’t renew.

However, Rai is reporting that the two parties are still some distance apart as they look to agree terms on a new deal.

Ghoulam currently earns around €800,000 per season, which Napoli are willing to more than double, offering €1.8m.

In addition, the Vesuviani could include bonuses which would take his potential pay up to the region of €2m.

Despite this, it’s thought Ghoulam’s brother – who advises him – and his agent, Alessandro Moggi, are insisting on a salary of around €2.5m per season, in line with the renewal offered to Kalidou Koulibaly.

On top of that, his brother is asking for a hefty commission on any renewal, something which has angered Napoli.
