Genoa have reportedly agreed a fee with Chievo to sign Francesco Acerbi outright from their co-ownership deal.

The defender will, according to Sky Sport Italia, move to Marassi but is expected to immediately be sent on to Milan.

Genoa and Chievo were keen to find an agreement in order to rule out the possibility of a blind auction for central defender.

“We are negotiating with Genoa to sort out his ownership,” Chievo sporting director Giovanni Sartori stated this morning. “Neither of us want it to go to envelopes.”

It is being claimed that Acerbi will cost Genoa around €4m and he may move to San Siro in a new co-ownership agreement for the same kind of fee.

The former Pavia and Reggina stopper caught the eye during his 17 League games for the Flying Donkeys this term.
