Genoa’s sporting director claims his club have already rejected an offer from Napoli for striker Krzysztof Piatek.

Piatek’s run of 13 goals in his first 12 appearances for Genoa has unsurprisingly seen him linked with bigger teams, and Giorgio Perinetti confirmed Napoli’s interest in the Polish striking sensation.

“We’ve sent all offers for Piatek back to sender,” he told Radio Crc.

“Did one come from Napoli? Yes, but it wasn’t the right time. Will talks resume in June? We’ll think about it later.”

Perinetti was then asked about Ivan Juric, whose return to the Genoa bench has yielded three games and no wins.

“Ancelotti was criticised after two League matches…” he added.

“He’s been having a difficult time of it, with a difficult run of fixtures, but the team have done well.

“We put on a great performance against Juve. He has different concepts to Ballardini.

“An international break is coming up and he’ll have the opportunity to check the physical condition of his players.”
