Genoa President Enrico Preziosi confirmed Milan striker M’Baye Niang “could be the right reinforcement.”

The two clubs have often done business together and maintain an excellent rapport, which includes negotiations for Andreas Granqvist’s potential move to San Siro.

“Granqvist? It’s all in stand-by for the moment,” Preziosi told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“A striker will arrive and Niang could be the right reinforcement, even if we have to make some final evaluations.

“I will have to talk to Coach Fabio Liverani to understand what type of player he needs for this team. As for Mattia Perin, he’s doing very well and we’re in no hurry to sign another goalkeeper.”

French-Senegalese forward Niang is still only 18 years old and he scored just one goal for Milan in official competition, in the 3-0 Coppa Italia victory over Reggina.
