Di Marzio’s line has since been corroborated by Argentine broadcaster TyC Sports.
The synergy between the Grifone and Inter bears similarities to how Juventus helped Sassuolo sign defender Merih Demiral in January.
Sassuolo took Merih on loan in January with a €7m obligation to buy, impressing sufficiently to earn a move to Juve, who retained their own €15m right of purchase.
