According to Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, Genoa have agreed to let Inter come in for De la Vega.

The Sky Sport Italia journalist explains Nerazzurri Vice-President Javier Zanetti met the 18-year-old’s parents during the U-20 World Cup in Chile.

That would have led to a deal being struck for €10m plus 5 percent of a future resale going to Lanus.

He is expected to sign a five-year contract with the Grifone, which includes a right of first refusal for the Beneamata.

Di Marzio’s line has since been corroborated by Argentine broadcaster TyC Sports.

The synergy between the Grifone and Inter bears similarities to how Juventus helped Sassuolo sign defender Merih Demiral in January.

Sassuolo took Merih on loan in January with a €7m obligation to buy, impressing sufficiently to earn a move to Juve, who retained their own €15m right of purchase.
