Domenico Criscito could leave Zenit St Petersburg for a return to his old club Genoa, claim Sky Sport Italia.
The defender has never disguised his fondness for Genoa, having started out in their youth academy and made 165 senior appearances for the club.
He left for Zenit at a cost of €15m in the summer of 2011 and became a mainstay in Russia, but has recently hinted at a desire to return.
His contract is due to expire in June and Sky Sport Italia report Genoa are working on bringing Criscito back to Marassi even before he becomes a free agent.
