Genoa have responded to rumours that Roma want Rodrigo Palacio by shelving transfer talk until the summer.

Reports this morning again suggested that the Giallorossi are keen on netting the 30-year-old forward at the end of the season.

“At this moment in time we are not even thinking about the transfer market,” Rossoblu sporting director Stefano Capozucca told Gazzetta Giallorossa.

“We are in a League position that we really didn’t expect to be facing and we only have one thing on our minds – survival.

“There are six games left and our total attention is directed towards remaining in Serie A.”

Palacio has scored 17 goals in 27 games for the Rossoblu, but the club still find themselves just one place and two points above the drop zone.
