Genoa have confirmed that they have found a shirt sponsor for next season in the form of British biscuit firm McVitie’s.

The Grifone launched their 2014-15 shirts without sponsors this summer, but have now secured backing from the UK company.

“McVitie’s Digestive is one of the leaders in the international market for biscuits, with products to suit any occasion and especially at mealtime,” reads Genoa’s statement on their website.

“Its management has scored another goal and decided to invest more resources and strategies in the world of sports, especially in football, matching their brand to the team that has the most solid historical ties, because of the date of foundation and origins, with the nation across the Channel, in the landscape of Serie A – Genoa Cricket and Football Club.

“McVitie’s Digestive therefore, owned by British group United Biscuits UK Ltd, becomes a co-sponsor of Genoa through a signed agreement – the brand of the company, always oriented to the welfare and quality of life, will appear in their role on the shirts of the players of the Grifone.”
