It has been open warfare between the sporting and organisational sides of the club since Zvonimir Boban told La Gazzetta dello Sport that Gazidis had “gone behind our backs” to contact potential new coach Ralf Rangnick.

There are reports today that Boban has been sacked for ‘just cause’ due to his many remarks about Gazidis, with fellow sporting directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara likely to follow.

For the second day running, Milan held their training session with only CEO Gazidis watching on as a club representative.

He had generally tried to shun that sort of appointment, but if he is to push Boban, Maldini and Massara out, Gazidis then needs to take a more hands-on approach to everyday tasks.

Meanwhile, the Rossoneri trained in an empty San Siro this morning, as they are trying to get used to the atmosphere ahead of tomorrow’s match against Genoa.

All Serie A games must be played behind closed doors until April 3, as Italy tries to slow the spread of the Coronavirus.
