Gennaro Gattuso will one day return to Milan, although in what capacity it remains unclear, says his agent today.

The tough-tackling midfielder departed the Rossoneri this summer after 13 years with the club and signed a contract with Swiss club FC Sion.

However, whilst his representative explained that this decision has re-motivated his client, the desire remains for him to one day return to San Siro.

“Gattuso is very happy in Sion, he has made this decision  to find new motivation,” began Andrea D’Amico to Gazzetta dello Sport.

“He chose a team with so much ambition to win the championship. However, Rino still sees himself as a part of Milan.

“After 13 years at Milanello he refused to join any other Italian club. He’s signed a two-year deal in Switzerland, but his desire is to return to Milan, although it is not yet determined in what sort of role.”

D’Amico also represents former Milan forward Maxi Lopez, who, after six months on loan with the Rossoneri, is eager to find a new home away from owners Catania this summer.

“Different teams like Torino and Sampdoria are interested in him, but so too are some foreign clubs.

“In Milan he played little, but departed with a great memory. In the next few hours we will know something further with regards his future.”
