The Rossoneri boss is currently presiding over his side’s pre-season tour of the United States, with Milan set to face Tottenham Hotspur tonight.

He has been assured by the club’s new general manager Leonardo that he will remain in charge, but reports in various media suggest the San Siro club still want to bring in former Chelsea boss Conte.

Speaking at a Press conference, Gattuso explained how constant speculation at this time of year can create a bad feeling among both players and Coaches.

“The boys are always on their phones,” the former midfielder began. “They go on the internet, they read everything and they speak to the owners.

“That’s how it was during my time as well. Until the transfer window is shut, people will always talk and that brings a bit of a bad mood.

“The forwards worry that another forward will come in, the midfielders worry that another midfielder will arrive.

“Even from my point of view, I read every day that my position is under threat.

“Calmness should give you the desire to work and professionalism."
