UEFA will charge Rino Gattuso with gross unsporting conduct rather than assault after his clash with Joe Jordan.

Gattuso was seen to raise his arms at the Tottenham assistant manager during the first leg of Milan's Champions League knock-out match on Tuesday evening.

He then sought out Jordan after the final whistle and attempted to head-butt the Scot.

UEFA's decision, which will be ratified on Monday, means Gattuso faces a minimum one-match ban.
