“It’s a pity that our positive streak was stopped at the weekend by Carpi. The fact we’re back on the field so quickly gives us an opportunity to fight back.

“Fortunately we are in a fairly relaxed situation in the table and we’ll use this as an opportunity to see some new faces.

“We know the quality of Inter, a side that was top of the table for most of the first half of the season. They had a slight dip, but are coming back into form. Inter deserve their current position.

“We are a group that knows how to react, so we must be ready for this challenge and show quick reactions. After all, we are playing on our own turf and with our fans behind us.”

Absentees include Nicolas Burdisso, Tomas Rincon, Goran Pandev, Armando Izzo and Mattia Perin.

Genoa squad for Inter: Ansaldi, De Maio, Cerci, Marchese, Capel, Suso, Ntcham, Pavoletti, Lazovic, Lamanna, Munoz, Fiamozzi, Rigoni, Dzemaili, Donnarumma, Gabriel Silva, Corsinelli, Panico, Sommariva, Matavz, Sandro, Tachtsidis, Laxalt, Ghiglione
