Atalanta Coach Gian Piero Gasperini says Monday’s match with Crotone is important, but not decisive.

The match at Stadio Adriatico is a meeting of Serie A’s bottom two clubs, with the teams having amassed just one win between them in a combined ten games so far this season.

“It will definitely be an important match, but not decisive,” Gasperini, who has come under pressure following recent results, told a Press conference.

“After six games, there are no decisive matches. We deserved more against Palermo, we did more than they did, but it is clear there needs to be a reaction.

“Atalanta are not a team who don’t react. Crotone are a team who run, they have their characteristics and until now they have always competed with everyone.”

The experienced tactician also discussed his time in charge of Monday night’s opponents, his first senior coaching job.

“I owe a lot to Crotone, to the club and city. It was my first professional experience and it was a very good and positive one.

“But now I work for Atalanta and the target is to look to improve, to develop the team and get results.”
