Atalanta Coach Gian Piero Gasperini insists his side “have never stepped aside in any of the three competitions” as they prepare to face Juventus.

Tomorrow’s game has been rescheduled after it was snowed off, and the Orobici were planning to rotate heavily for the original tie.

That led to accusations that they weren’t trying their best to beat the Bianconeri, but the tactician dismissed that suggestion.

“Our goal is to do our League campaign thinking about ourselves, not to keep it open for others,” Gasperini insisted in his pre-match Press conference.

“We have never stepped aside in any of the three competitions in which we took part this year, there’s no doubt about that.

“When you play three games in a week it’s normal there will be rotation.

“Tomorrow will be a difficult game, Juve’s motivation will be at 1000 because they’ve gone back to the top.

“We need to think about ourselves though, if we can get a result we’ll get closer to those in front of us.

“We’re coming into this match well, the Bologna game gave us a good injection of morale and confidence, as well as improving our position.

“We need to play with the care and attention as the last game in the cup, knowing this time that two of three results are good for us.”
