Napoli have given time to Rudi Garcia, but the Frenchman remains under scrutiny with Antonio Conte and Igor Tudor mentioned as possible replacements, while the Partenopei reportedly have a clause to terminate the coach’s contract in 2024.

Garcia is under pressure following a 3-1 loss against Fiorentina at the Stadio Maradona on Sunday night.

The Serie A title holders find themselves seven points below leaders Milan and three below a Champions League placement.

La Gazzetta dello Sport and Il Corriere dello Sport report President Aurelio De Laurentiis had spoken to Garcia immediately after Sunday’s loss to Fiorentina and the same did sporting director Mauro Meluso, Chief Scout Maurizio Micheli and Club manager Antonio Sinicopri on Monday afternoon. De Laurentiis also joined the meeting remotely.

Garcia has been given time but the results of the next few games will be crucial. Napoli visit Hellas Verona in Serie A and Leonardo Bonucci’s Union Berlin in the Champions League after the break, before a home league match against Milan.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, poor results and these games would lead to Garcia’s dismissal. The Frenchman signed a three-year contract last summer but according to Corsport, Napoli can terminate the deal unilaterally at the end of the season through a formal communication.

This means that if Garcia is sacked before the end of the season, Napoli will continue paying his salary only until the end of the campaign.

Igor Tudor and Antonio Conte are mentioned by Gazzetta and Corriere dello Sport as the most credible candidates for Napoli if Garcia is sacked.

I would have put my efforts into getting Conte. Not a perfect coach but he’ll motivate these guys. They need to replace Kim’s presence.
