The Morocco international was spotted training on his own at the Giallorossi’s Trigoria training complex, with rumours that a move to Manchester City is imminent.

But Corriere dello Sport believe that the French Coach spent the majority of yesterday evening speaking with the defender, trying to convince him to stay.

Benatia is upset with the way contract negotiations have been handled by the Stadio Olimpico outfit, and is said to be fuming with sporting director Walter Sabatini, who told a Press conference in June that the centre-back was ‘worth €63m’.

Garcia is supposed to have told Benatia that he will be the third name on the team-sheet next season behind Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi.

But it seems that the former Udinese man has his heart set on the Premier League.
