Rudi Garcia insists his Roma side will take the Europa League seriously, saying ‘we’ll play at the maximum’.

The Giallorossi have dropped into the Europa League after elimination from the Champions League, and will face Feyenoord in Rome tomorrow night.

“I’ve already said, we’ll play at the maximum in both competitions [Serie A and the Europa League],” Garcia insisted in his pre-match Press conference.

“We need experience in Europe, we need to make a name for ourselves.

“In the League we battle all year to qualify for European competition, we hope that will be the Champions League, but to elevate Roma’s position we have to play in Europe every year.

“Our aim is to qualify, and we can make that a possibility tomorrow.”

The French tactician also dismissed suggestions he would play a weakened side, as his team faces a crucial period in Serie A.

“I’ll have to see who is fit, who needs games and what the later games are. We’ve had four days to recover, this is only the second game of five.

“In Sunday we’ll reflect, not tomorrow. I’ll put out the best team to win the game and to give us a shot at qualification.

“We know that there are two legs, and tomorrow we have to get a very good result. The players have a huge desire to fight and to run like crazy.

“We just have to focus.”
