With three games remaining in the Serie A season, Napoli produced close to a perfect performance to spank Torino 5-0.

Maurizio Sarri’s men were still pushing to finish second in Serie A, and welcomed Kalidou Koulibaly back from suspension.

It was clear immediately that the Partenopei meant business, with Allan setting up Jose Callejon to drive the ball past Joe Hart and into the corner.

Dries Mertens, gunning for the Capocannoniere crown, sent a lob over the Granata goal, before Lorenzo Insigne landed the ball on the roof of the net with a chip of his own.

It was those two who combined to make it 2-0, with Mertens unselfishly rolling the ball across for his Italian teammate after a fine solo run.

The Belgian didn’t have to wait long to add his name to the scoresheet though, catching out Hart with a low shot to the near post.

Jose Callejon added his second of the match from Faouzi Ghoulam’s cross, before setting up Piotr Zielinski to make it five.

The next day, the Italian sports media heaped praise on Sarri's side, claiming they had played almost the perfect match.

It was the second time in the 2016-17 season that Napoli had put five past Toro, following a 5-3 thriller in Week 17.
