“We’ll see what happens tonight against the side that finished second last season,” the CEO told Mediaset Premium.

“Our market is closed and if nobody leaves, then nobody will come in either. We signed Mario Pasalic today and this is the squad we’ll use to face the campaign ahead.

“There are quite a lot of us in midfield and it’s true Jose Mauri has offers, but the decision is up to him. On Monday I will meet his agent.

“Milan are complete in every area.”

It was reported Chelsea had offered over €40m for centre-back Romagnoli, maybe as much as €50m.

“We declared that Romagnoli is not for sale. I thank Chelsea, who made a very important offer, but we do not sell our jewels. Mattia De Sciglio is included in that list and so is Gianluigi Donnarumma.”

Carlos Bacca was on the verge of a move to West Ham, but scored a hat-trick in the season opener against Torino.

“At a certain point we agreed it was a good idea that he stay. We are all happy and the calm has returned. There were some opportunities, but all’s well that ends well.”
