Monza CEO Adriano Galliani is not one of those calling for Juventus to face further penalties for financial irregularities. ‘They have paid enough.’

The Bianconeri were docked 10 Serie A points for artificially inflating transfer fees to boost capital gains.

They are also working out the details of a plea bargain with the FIGC over the so-called salary manoeuvres, so will not face further points penalties next season, only a large fine.

While some in the Calcio world feel that was lenient, Galliani is not one of them.

“I think Juve have paid enough, seeing as without the points penalty they would’ve been in the Champions League, but instead were bumped down to seventh,” the Monza chief told Il Cittadino.

Technically, the Turin giants have qualified for the Conference League, but it remains to be seen if UEFA will exclude them from all competitions over those financial irregularities.

This was Monza’s debut Serie A season after promotion last summer via the play-offs and they had a dismal start, but haven’t looked back since promoting coach Raffaele Palladino from the youth team.

“When we decided to bet on Palladino, we were torn apart, a bit like when at Milan we chose Arrigo Sacchi. But now Raffaele can follow in the footsteps of the great coaches.”
