Former Milan chief Adriano Galliani claims Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso was once “on the verge” of buying the Rossoneri from Yonghong Li.
Commisso was heavily linked with a takeover before Elliott Management repossessed Milan during the summer of 2018, and the Italo-American tycoon has since pitched up at Fiorentina.
“Fiorentina are doing very well now,” Galliani told Calciomercato.com.
“Commisso was on the verge of buying Milan. I don’t understand why Yonghong Li didn’t sell Milan to him.

“Commisso was on the verge of buying Milan. I don’t understand why Yonghong Li didn’t sell Milan to him.
“He lost everything in a few days and Elliott took over. I never understood it.
“I met him in Milan, he made a great impression on me and what Li did remains a great mystery.
“Fiorentina got a great deal with Commisso. I also want to point out the Della Valles. I’d like to know what would’ve happened to Fiorentina without them.”
Also responsible for the Tuscans’ recent revival is another man with past links to the Diavolo – Coach Vincenzo Montella.
“I’m fond of Vincenzo. He won the last trophy of our ownership.”
