Mario Balotelli has landed in Italy to complete his move to Milan. “It’s a dream come true and he has been in our hearts for some time,” said Adriano Galliani.

The striker will now undergo a medical and sign the four-and-a-half-year contract to complete a transfer from Manchester City thought to be worth €20m plus a further €3m in performance-related bonuses.

“I certainly don’t need to present Mario Balotelli to you,” smiled Vice-President Galliani on Milan Channel after landing at Malpensa Airport.

“It is a dream come true and one that we all wanted, starting from President Silvio Berlusconi on the front line.

“With Mario’s arrival we strengthen our squad a great deal. We worked hard on this and Mario has been in our hearts for some time, so we finally managed to get him.”

Despite starting his Serie A career at Inter, Balotelli has confessed he is a Milan supporter.

He was meant to wear the Number 9 jersey left open by Alexandre Pato, but the rules bar a number from being used twice in one season, so Balotelli sticks with 45.
