Roberto Gagliardini is backing “great player” and former teammate Leonardo Spinazzola to star again for Atalanta this season.
Gagliardini was colleagues with Spinazzola at Atalanta in the first half of the previous campaign, but the latter has come in for criticism after trying to force a return to Juventus.
“We’ve made a very good start. We picked up maximum points in two tough games, so it’s been a positive start,” the Inter midfielder told Premium Sport.

“My relationship with Spalletti? It’s going very well with him. He’s giving me the right advice for me to improve and to help the team as best as possible.
“Objective for the season? To get into the top four and return to the Champions League because it’s been so long since a glorious team like Inter have taken part in this competition.
“Spinazzola? He was great last season and I think that every player dreams about playing for the best teams in the world.
“I don’t know exactly what happened in the transfer window and how it went with Juventus, but I know he’s a great player and he’ll do everything he can to help the team he plays for.”
