Inter are back on the move for Santos youngster Gabigol, and there may be an opening for January.

The president of the Nerazzurri has been active in Rio de Janeiro during the Olympic games, as he is at the head of the Indonesian Olympic committee.

Along with watching the contests, he is believed to have contacted Gabigol and rediscussed in person the option of a transfer.

The Brazilian, who was initially reluctant, now sounded open about the idea of a move, and so did his agent Giuliano Bertolucci, as well as the footballer's father.

Signing Gabigol right now remains impossible, as Santos won't sell him before the end of the current season, but a move in January cannot be ruled out.

Inter are already at the limit in terms of the number of foreigners they can deploy in their squad, so barring an unexpected sale, they might turn their new signing over to a smaller club on loan for the first semester.

Juventus and other Premier League competitors are still in with a shout, but Inter is leading the race at the moment.
