The Daily Star has insisted that the west London club will make a move for the striker, who has been angling for a transfer away from the Giallorossi for a while now.

Despite wanting to leave Stadio Olimpico though, the goalscorer has already turned down moves to Southampton and Zenit St Petersburg this summer.

However, Martin Jol’s men are hoping to lure the former Espanyol forward to Craven Cottage with the promise of regular Premier League football.

The two clubs are likely to come to an agreement thanks to a good relationship, having previously worked together in the transfer of Maarten Stekelenburg.
