England boss Roy Hodgson has admitted that their next two friendlies are in preparation for the match with Italy in 11 days’ time.

The Three Lions have landed in Miami where they will face Ecuador on Wednesday and Honduras on Saturday.

And the Coach has insisted that these games are the groundwork ahead of the match in Manaus on June 14.

“There will be changes in the team, I can't speak in detail about them because we are still to go through our team meeting, where we discuss what we expect from Ecuador, and at that time I may tell the team,” he told a Press conference.

"I don't know if I have any particular thoughts or learning [from these games]. I am very comfortable with the players I have brought here I am more interested to see them playing well.

“It is a preparation game in the greater realm of things leading to the Italy game on 14 June. I hope I see the team play well, some good individual.”

The former Inter tactician then revealed some of the steps they have gone to to get the players ready for the humid conditions.

“Some of the measurements we have done have been quite important such as things like the players' sweat analysis, not every play sweats the same way and that gives you information on what drink they use for rehydration etc.

"We go into great detail in those areas but at the end of the day you judge players on the performance on the field.

“These scientific measurements help but I don't think I will get to the stage where I don't pay attention to what happens on the training pitch. I hope I don't get down too scientific a route where I say 'ok Frank sweats too much, he won't play'.

“We are trying to continue the tactical and technical work we have been doing. Most of our work at this stage has been tactical. I have two further preparation games and we will really start thinking about the team for Italy when we start our journey to Brazil.

"At the moment I take it one step at a time.”
