Bari and Modena are into the semi-finals of the Serie B promotion play-offs after wins on Tuesday evening.

Owing to the League’s decision last summer to expand the second-tier’s end-of-season lottery to include teams who finished as low as eighth, an extra round of matches is needed.

Tonight’s quarter-finals saw the teams who finished fifth and eighth in the regular season table face-off (Modena and Spezia” data-scaytid=”23″>Spezia), as well as those who ended in sixth and seventh (Crotone and Bari).

And it was the Galletti who first made it to the last four, beating Crotone 3-0 thanks to goals from Cristian Galano, Joao Silva and Daniele Sciaduone.

Modena meanwhile beat Devis Mangia’s men thanks to Francesco Signori’s second half strike.

Latina will now play Bari and Cesena will face Modena in the two-legged semi-finals.
