Sebastien Frey could be out for the rest of the season, as the Fiorentina goalkeeper needs specialist tests on ligament damage.
“ACF Fiorentina announce that, during today's training session, Sebastien Frey sprained the knee that had not been previously operated on, with damage to the anterior cruciate ligament,” read a statement.
“Tomorrow the player will undergo specialist tests for a clinical evaluation.”
If there is serious damage to the ligament, then Frey could be out of action for up to six months.
