Genoa have claimed that Fiorentina have offered them the services of French goalkeeper Sebastien Frey.

Whispers of a possible Marassi switch for the 'keeper have been getting louder, but the Rossoblu insist he is of no interest.

"The player is not part of our plans and he therefore will not be joining us," Genoa sporting director Stefano Capozucca told firenzeviola.it.

"However, at the moment, we don't need a player like Frey as we already have an excellent goalkeeper in Eduardo."

It remains to be seen whether the Portuguese international will remain with the Stadio Ferraris side.

He had a tough first season in Italy and Genoa have also been linked with Inter's Emiliano Viviano and Marco Storari of Juventus.
